Two Selma residents were arrested Thursday after a high-speed chase.

Jarron Stallworth and Shakira Aaron are both in the Dallas County Jail on bails that surpass over $1.5 million.

Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway Jr. set a $5 million bond for Stallworth, AKA “Pop,” on charges of attempted murder, first-degree criminal mischief, shooting into an occupied vehicle, shooting into an unoccupied vehicle and shooting into an occupied building.

Aaron is charged with drug trafficking and has a $1.5 million bond.

Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said Pettaway also revoked Stallworth’s on other cases, meaning he can’t get out of jail.

 

Around 10:10 p.m. on June 3, the Selma Alabama Firearm Enforcement (SAFE) team chased a silver Chevrolet Malibu at old Montgomery Highway where the Selma Police Department (SPD) received a call about a shooting.

Jackson said the SAFE team both discovered the back window of the Malibu was shot out with bullet holes in the broken glass. He also said agents chased the suspects down Kingsbend Road to Providence Road, where they ran into a house.

SPD investigated the case and obtained a search warrant for the residents at the address because the suspects would not come out. After several hours of negotiating, the suspects and the family who lived at the residence came out.

Jackson credits several law enforcement agencies in Stallworth’s arrest: SPD, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), FBI, ALEA, Drug Task Force, Federal Task Force, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Attorney General Investigators, SAFE Team and Greenville Police Department.

“I want to personally thank all of these agencies for assisting in the arrest of one of Selma’s Most wanted,” Jackson said.
