Crosspoint Christian Church and Northside Baptist Church teamed up with American Red Cross for a blood drive in Dallas County.
Northside Baptist was scheduled to host the blood drive, but couldn’t because of mechanical issues. Crosspoint Christian agreed to host the five-hour event.
“Our purpose is to help others who need blood right now, especially with the coronavirus and the recent shootings we’ve had,” Crosspoint Christian member Nikki Johnson said.
Northside Baptist member Kathy Smith said the blood drive is all about helping others.
“This is all about God and all about love,” Smith said. “There’s a lot of good things going on in Selma right now.”
Russell Robinson, one of the American Red Cross nurses who worked the blood drive, said its part of the company purpose of serving communities.
“It’s an act of sharing our service and the purpose of serving,” Robinson said.
