Military garment manufacturer American Apparel reopened its doors Monday morning after being closed for a deep cleaning over the weekend after two employees were confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
“We’re up and running again with most everybody back to work,” reported American Apparel President and CEO on Monday Morning.
Lambert said a professional cleaning service spent the entirety of Friday disinfecting the facility, ensuring safety for the return of workers Monday morning.
“It’s clean as a whistle,” said Lambert.
Despite most employees returning to work Monday morning, Lambert said there were a handful of employees who did not return to work for fear of contracting the virus.
Fears of the virus at the facility also caused many employees to walk out of the facility on Thursday morning.
“We understand people’s concerns but we’re doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our facility,” said Lambert.
Lambert said he hopes all employees who didn’t return to work Monday morning will return soon, again ensuring the safety of the facility.
“I hope everyone gets back to work soon,” he said. “But we’re glad to have who we have… We’ll get through this hysteria.”
