Selma’s local McDonald’s, located at 600 Highland Avenue, will be providing area healthcare workers and first responders with free meals until Tuesday, May 5.
Eddie Byrd, Director of Marketing for Murphy’s Family Restaurants, which owns 30 McDonald’s across the state, including the Selma location, said the initiative is a way to say, “thank you” to those on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s one of the most rewarding things we can do right now,” said Byrd. “[During the pandemic] we’ve been able to keep our employees working and now, we’re able to thank our heroes.”
First responders and healthcare workers can receive a “Thank You Meal” once per day, at no charge, via drive-through or carryout by showing their professional ID or badge.
For breakfast, first responders and healthcare workers can choose from an Egg McMuffin, Chicken McGriddles or a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and a hash brown.
For lunch or dinner, first responders and healthcare workers can choose from a double cheeseburger, six-piece McNuggets or a Filet-O-Fish with any with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and small fries.
Each “Thank You Meal” will be served in McDonald’s signature Happy Meal Box, to bring a smile, as well as a hot meal, to those on the frontlines during the pandemic.
