Sue Cogle, a long-time resident of Marion Junction passed away at her home on April 16, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born June 6, 1933 in Choctaw County to Cora and Louis Callis. She taught school in Thomasville, Alabama, where she met her future husband, Robert. They married and moved to Marion Junction where they farmed and raised four sons.

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Selma, AL. She was a faithful volunteer with Vaughan Auxiliary for many years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, whose greatest joy was her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Cogle; mother, Cora Callis; father, Louis Callis; sister, Eloise Land and brothers, Clifford Callis, Gaston Callis, David Callis and Jimmy Meador.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Kevin (Kim) Cogle, Douglas Kent (Margaret) Cogle, Jeffrey Stuart (Kim) Cogle and Thomas Louis (Frances) Cogle; grandchildren, Robert Gillis Cogle, Margaret Callis (Wesley) Blake, Brittany Jean (Steven) Wingo, Douglas Gray (Anne Larkin) Cogle, Brandon Thomas (Jennifer) Cogle, Kirkland Stuart (Sarah) Cogle, Jeffrey Clayton (Maggie Scott) Cogle, MacKenzie Lea Cogle, Aaron Thomas Cogle, Nathan Lee Cogle and Sarah Frances Cogle; twelve great-grandchildren and brother, Morris (Cynthia) Meador.

She will be laid to rest at New Live Oak Cemetery. Those desiring, may make memorial donations to First Baptist Church; P.O. Box 1186, Selma, Alabama 36701 in memory of Sue Cogle. The family would like to thank Nathel Sherrer, Brenda Cole, Kim Williams, Betty Moreland and Ann Chandler for their loving and devoted care of our mother.
