Gospel Tabernacle Church and their affiliated non-profit organization All Things Are Possible (ATAP) will be thanking the first responders of Dallas County today with a free meal that can be picked up at The Gathering Place from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

According to Gospel Tabernacle First Lady Cece Grayson, first responders can visit https://gtserve.eventbrite.com or call (334) 267-5692 to place their order ahead of time.

Grayson said the “fabulous, hot meal” includes baked chicken or a hamburger steak, rice, green beans, mac and cheese, cake for desert and a water or soda to drink.

Grayson said to keep volunteers and first responders safe from the coronavirus, food will be brought out to first responders vehicles by a volunteer equipped with a mask and gloves, all the first responders have to do is show the volunteer their badge.

Grayson said the idea to thank the responders for their service amidst the COVID-19 outbreak came from her husband, John Grayson, Pastor of Tabernacle Church.

“He said, ‘They go out and risk their live for us every day, the least we could do is provide them a meal to let them know we’re thinking about them.’” said Cece Grayson. “We want the first responders to know they are not out there by themselves. The community is behind them as they protect us and take care of us each day.”

Grayson expressed admiration for her husband for coming up with the plan to serve the first responders of Dallas County.

“I married the man with the world’s biggest heart,” she said.

Grayson said that the congregation of Gospel Tabernacle has police officers, firefighters, EMTs, doctors and nurses at the forefront of their prayers during the ongoing COVID – 19 pandemic.

“We’re praying for them,” she said. “Not just in Dallas County, but across the nation and across the world.”
