A Selma native plans on giving back to her hometown later this summer.

Tamira Williams of Untamed Talenz LLC has scheduled a Majorette Mini Camp for the weekend of June 27-28 and a Young Adult Networking Workshop on Oct. 3. The Mini Camp will be held at Beautiful Feet School of Dance.  Early registration ends April 30 and costs $65. The standard registration fee is $80. Batons will not be provided.

Williams founded Untamed Talenz LLC last year. The consulting group focuses on training and consulting in baton twirling, life skills, leadership and mentoring.

“We are very excited to bring positive activities to the city of Selma,” Williams said. “We can’t wait to share these and many more experiences within our community. I want to give back to the community that made me.”

Baton twirling holds a special place for Williams, a 2010 graduate of Selma High. She was a majorette at the school.

“It was my dream to create an organization that incorporated my love for baton twirling and helping the community,” Williams said.

“I believe that every young woman has the ability to reach untamable heights. That’s the reason I started my business. I believe I can provide the right outlets and right material to help spread the love of baton twirling and give every young woman I come in contact with a fighting chance to make it in today’s world and tap their untamed potential.”

Williams later graduated from North Carolina A&T University with an Industrial and Systems Engineering Degree. She is currently a Procurement Engineer and Buyer at Graphic Packaging International, Inc. in Augusta, Georgia.

“Our goal is to help every young woman achieve their untamed potential by sponsoring, hosting and participating in activities and programs that benefit young women in our community,” Williams said.
