The Eastern Star Chapter of Ladies in Faith Together (LIFT) Ministries from Orrville made a trip to Selma Wednesday morning to drop off boxes of “blessing bags” to the Edmundite Missions’ Boutique and More.

The blessing bags contain sanitary supplies like hand sanitizer and wet wipes as well as daily hygiene products like combs, brushes, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

LIFT Ministries founder Latangelia Williams said that the blessing bags would be beneficial to the people the Edmundite Missions serve during the ongoing COVID – 19 outbreak.

“Giving back to the community gives you a sense of purpose and elevates your self-esteem because you wake up in the morning knowing you did something meaningful for someone else,” said Williams. “[The Edmundite Missions’ Boutique and More] is Selma’s best kept secret. A lot of people don’t know that they can come [here] and get hygiene products and clothes for free…I think what they’re doing is amazing because there are so many people in need.”

Edmundite Missions President and CEO Chad McEachern expressed his thanks for the group and their donation.

“The Edmundite Missions is so honored to receive these hygiene kits from the Eastern Star Chapter in Orrville,” he said. “During this time, as the pandemic effects all of us, so many of those we serve who live on the streets have no place to wash their hands or stay clean. These kits will help those we serve and help keep our entire city healthy. We cannot thank this group enough for their generosity.”
