U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-AL, is hosting a series of town hall meetings and resource fairs in Montgomery, Jefferson and Dallas counties next week as a way to provide constituents with information on local services and create a dialogue on important issues.

The Dallas County event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center (VRMC) – the resource fair will start at 10 a.m. with the town hall to follow an hour later.

Among the community partners taking part in Sewell’s resource fair are the Dallas County Department of Public Health, Medical Advocacy and Outreach (MAO), Alabama Counts 2020 Census Initiative, the Family Sunshine Center, the Selma Veterans Affairs Medical Clinic, VRMC and the Michael Johnson 93-90 Foundation.

According to a press release from Sewell’s office, the resource fairs are designed to offer constituents an “opportunity to get information and services from community partners on issues including healthcare, Social Security, veterans affairs, civic engagement and social advocacy.”

The town hall meeting, part of Sewell’s annual Congress in Your Community Town Hall Meeting Tour that stops in all 14 counties across Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, will “serve as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue” between Sewell and local constituents, giving the lawmaker the opportunity to “connect with constituents and address their concerns.”
