Second Selma man killed in automobile accident near Clanton

A second Selma resident was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning near Clanton.

According to ALEA State Trooper Public Information Officer Benjamin Carswell, Lewis Thompson Jr., 33, was pronounced dead at a hospital. He was a passenger in a 2000 Honda Accord that collided with a 1999 Hino truck at 11 a.m.

ALEA announced Tuesday that Kahmcel Rashad Jones, 23, was killed. He was also a passenger. Carswell said Jones was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash occurred on Alabama 22 near Chilton Road 410, approximately four miles west of Clanton.
