Selma man killed in automobile accident near Clanton

A Selma resident was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning near Clanton.
According to ALEA State Trooper Public Information Officer Benjamin Carswell, Kahmcel Rashad Jones, 23, was killed when the 2000 Honda Accord, in which he was a passenger, collided with a 1999 Hino truck at 11 a.m.
Carswell said Jones was not wearing a seatbelt and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 22 near Chilton Road 410, approximately four miles west of Clanton. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with injuries.
ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
