A new season of “Medical Matters” begins this Friday at the Selma – Dallas County Public Library with a focus on heart healthy habits.
The premier Medical Matters lecture of 2020 will take place in the Vaughan Room from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and a free sack lunch will be provided to the first 25 attendees.
One of UAB Family Medicine – Selma’s resident doctors will be on hand to deliver a presentation about heart health and answer any questions attendees may have.
Medical Matters began last year as a partnership between Vaughan Regional Medical Center (VRMC), UAB Family Medicine – Selma and the library.
“Medical Matters has been great,” said Selma – Dallas County Public Library Director Becky Nichols. “When we put this together, it was an idea to bring the community closer together.”
The doctors of UAB Family Medicine – Selma have agreed with Nichols on the success of the program based on the feedback of the participants.
The collected feedback was used to determine this year’s selection of topics.
“All of these topics are basically a compilation of what the community wanted to know about,” said Dr. Dunni Adetoba.
