In one week, the Selma Redevelopment Authority (SRA) will host a community event at ArtsRevive in which DesignAlabama will unveil its plan for redevelopment and branding for the Queen City.
The inspiration for DesignAlabama’s team of architects, engineers and architects came directly from the Selma Community.
The SRA hosted a community forum at ArtsRevive in August in which Selma citizens were invited to share their hopes and ideas for the future of the city.
SRA Chairman Juanda Maxwell was impressed with the crowd of roughly 150 people that attended the forum in August.
Maxwell expressed her excitement about the plans from DesignAlabama at the most recent SRA meeting.
“Selma needs the opportunity to buy into herself and to promote herself,” said Maxwell at last week’s SRA Meeting. “We believe that in doing so, it will help our community to love itself just a little bit more.”
The entire community is invited to the unveiling of DesignAlabama’s plans which will take place at ArtsRevive on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m.
