The Town of Orrville will host its annual Christmas Parade this weekend on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. for the fourth year in a row.
The parade will begin at the Orrville Community Center, head down Highway 22, turn right on to County Road 33, turn right onto Academy Street and then conclude.
Orrville Mayor Louvenia Lumpkin said that this year’s parade will include nearly 100 participants, including marching bands, muscle cars, fire trucks, homecoming queens and horses.
“We’ve got a little bit of everything,” said Lumpkin.
After this year’s parade, the festivities won’t quite be over.
For the first time, Lumpkin says that a community Christmas dinner will be held at the Orrville Community Center.
Lumpkin said the dinner will consist of barbeque chicken and sides with homemade desserts, including pound cake and sweet potato pie.
Lumpkin expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming occasion.
“I’m so excited,” she said. “I cannot wait for Saturday to come.”
