Ms. Edna Stocks Barnes, age 96, of Birmingham and formerly of Selma, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham.

She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Leonard Barnes; and children, John Michael Peake and Nancy Barnes Green.

She is survived by her children, Henry Lee Peake, Jr. (Jackie), Brenda Barnes Furr, and Patsy Barnes Hyde (George); grandchildren, Camille Furr, Leonard Furr, Henry Lee Peake, III (Kim), Lyn Whitaker (Glenn), Regina Self (Todd), Mike Stokes (Michelle), Michelle Peake Harris (Arell), and Mary Susan Casselberry (Scott); and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande with Dr. Jerry Light officiating. Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to Selma Funeral Home. www.selmafuneralhome.com
