A murder sentence for a Wilcox County man will be held next month.

According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, the murder sentencing for Sylvester Elliot will be held on Jan. 27.

Elliot, 26, is being charged for allegedly shooting and killing Clifford Bonner on Sept. 3, 2017.

A Wilcox County Jury found Elliot guilty of murder on Sept. 18. Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway ordered a Pre-sentence Investigation and report.

Jackson said Elliot could receive a life sentence.

“This was a cold-blooded murder, this gunslinger needs to spend the rest of his life in prison,” Jackson said.
