Five Dallas County football players received scholarships from the Selma Quarterback Club.
The Morgan Academy trio of Ethan Cargill, Thomas Morris and Will Ingram, along with Selma High’s Bryant Gordon and Edgerrin Moore of Southside High all received $5,000 scholarships from the Selma QB Club.
Cargill, who plans to attend South Alabama, said he’s grateful for the award.
“I feel honored, it helps me fulfill my dream of going to college,” Cargill said.
“It means a lot to get an important scholarship from the Selma Quarterback Club,” said Ingram, who will attend Auburn University next year.
Gordon, who plans to attend Mississippi State, said he appreciates the Selma QB Club selecting him. Gordon helped the Saints (6-5) reach the Class 6A state playoffs this season.
“It’s truly a blessing and an honor,” Gordon said. “I thank God for the opportunity.”
Moore, a key part of Southside going from 0-10 to 5-5, said he will use the scholarship funds to help earn a college degree.
“It’s a great opportunity for me as a young man to choose a college,” Moore said.
Morris, who plans to attend Auburn, said he’s honored to become the latest Senator to get honored by the Selma QB Club.
“I’ve attended the Selma QB Club meeting since I was a kid,” Morris said. “For me to get a scholarship, it’s pretty cool.”
