Southside sweeps Ellwood Christian Academy in basketball season opener
Southside defeated Ellwood Christian Academy (ECA) 56-54 in its season opener on Thursday.
Christopher Thomas led the Panthers with 20 points and five assists. Taye Spears added 12 points and five steals. Ernest Hatcher and Barrian Moorer each had 10.
Southside won the girls’ game 51-17 as Jakeria Robinson scored 25 points.
All-star forward Kylan Brown and Caliyah Donaldson each added 10 points for the Lady Panthers.
