Leading the way for Southside will be Taye Spears and Keundrik Peterson.

Cameron Prince, an All-Dallas County pick last year, leads the Eagles.

Jarvis Moss and Michael Harris are among the returning seniors for the Saints.

“We’ll be one of the most competitive teams in the county,” Rembert said. “We expect our young men to follow the examples of hard work.”

The return of All-State selection Arayvion Jones is a big boost for Keith High.

“We are young, but we should be competitive,” Bears coach Clifton Reeves said. “We have high expectations for Arayvion Jones.”

Junior guard Darrius Ellis returns for Dallas County, who opens Nov. 12 at Southside.

“It will be a great season opener to see where we stand and what things we need to work on,” Hornets coach Cliff Nix said.

Hutchenson praised the leadership of his four seniors: Milam Turner, Jeremy Lee, Ethan Cargill, and Richard Alan Waters.

“The seniors have put the work in and made improvements to their overall game, leadership and skill-set this offseason,” Hutchenson said. “We are very young, but I expect these guys to compete night in and night with anyone that we play.”

MCS coach Bob Taylor said the Trojans will rely on Chemar McGuire, Garrett Brech and Christian Jones. Taylor also coaches the Lady Trojans.
