Morgan Academy and Meadowview Christian School had its fingerprints all over the AISA All-Star volleyball game last weekend.
Kenley Kauffman, Tindall Albritton and Maggie Colley of Morgan Academy and Erin McIntyre of Meadowview Christian School played on the West All-Star squad. The East won 25-13, 25-18 and 25-19, sweeping the series at 3-0.
Morgan Academy coach Jessica Lovelady and Meadowview Christian School coach Katey Smith were the West All-Star co-coaches.
Lovelady, the Lady Senators’ first-year coach, said she enjoyed coaching in the AISA’s final volleyball contest of the year.
“It was an awesome and rewarding experience,” Lovelady said. “Getting to know the new girls that love the sport just as much as I do is always great. We had a great group of girls. I couldn’t believe how well they adapted with each other.”
Smith, who took over as MCS coach at mid-season, said it was great to coach her younger sister, McIntyre, one final time.
“What an awesome opportunity to get to coach the AISA volleyball All-Stars,” Smith said. “These young ladies impressed me with their skill and knowledge of the game. However, no one impressed me more than my little sister. I am so proud of what she has accomplished. She is talented beyond words.”
