The Selma Chapter of The Links, Inc. will host a breast cancer awareness event, “Links in Pink”, this Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon at the Historic Brown Chapel A.M.E.
According to Selma Links Chapter President Dorothy C. Barnes, The Links organized the event to raise awareness in risk factors for breast cancer, breast cancer prevention and treatment and increase outreach for breast cancer examinations for underserved persons in the community and surrounding areas.
The event was coordinated by Selma Links Chapter Health and Human Services Committee Chairperson, Dr. Patricia K. Robinson, and other committee members.
The Links are sponsoring the event along with three other collaborators, Rural Health Medical Program, Inc., Real Men Wear Pink, and 100 Black Men of Selma, Inc.
The free event includes breast exams from licensed medical personnel, presentations, food, door prizes and free gift cards.
