The Meadowview Christian Academy Trojans faced off against the Southern Academy Cougars on their own home turf Friday night.
The Cougars invaded Wasden Field, shutting out the Trojans 62-0 after four quarters of football.
The Cougars scored 35 of their 62 points in the first quarter alone, easing off of the gas in the second quarter scoring just one touchdown and completing an extra point.
The scoreboard showed 43-0 as the teams headed off of the field for halftime.
The Cougars came out in the second half and got three more runs past the Trojans before the clock ran out for the evening.
“They were everything I thought they were going to be,” said the Trojan’s head coach, Bob Taylor. “They’ve got 18 seniors on their team. They’ve got just about more seniors on their team than we do players. They’re a good team. We knew we had to play perfect and we didn’t. But we’re improving. We’ve got time to get where we need to be.”
