From Oct. 6-12, newspapers across the nation are celebrating the work we do for the community by recognizing National Newspaper Week.

The work we do here is not easy. Constantly being on the go and on the watch is a job that never ends for us but it is something we strive to do and we couldn’t see ourselves doing anything else.

The local news, sports and event coverage we provide is something that is not found in a lot of other places.

While the majority of the world focuses on national news, we focus on the stories that locally and directly impact you all.

There are many places you can turn to for state and national news but we are the only place you can find daily local news coverage.

When it comes to our coverage, we have recently finished some in depth looks at Craig Air Field and Park and the future that it will bring under new direction.

At every step of local government, our reporters are there watching every step of the process, most recently with the “sick out” still taking its toll with no end in sight.

We’re in the trenches covering every aspect of this county and it is our pleasure to do so.
