On Friday, agents with the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Investigations and Intelligence Division arrested an employee with the City of Demopolis after she was charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a male inmate.
Barbara Blevins, 48, of Forkland, was charged with five counts of sexual misconduct following an investigation that uncovered evidence that Blevins was having a physical relationship with an ADOC inmate.
At the time of Blevins’ arrest, the inmate was assigned to the Camden Community-Based Facility where he was working for the City of Demopolis.
The investigation was launched after an anonymous tip claimed that there was a “potentially inappropriate relationship” between Blevins and the inmate, who was not named in an ADOC press release.
Following her arrest, Blevins was booked at the Marengo County Jail – the inmate involved in the relationship will not face any criminal charges, but ADOC disciplinary action is pending.
