A bond hearing was held Thursday for the mother and her son for allegedly beating a man to death.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong set bond at $1 million each for Shana Muldrow, 56, and her son, Shakeem Butler, 24. They are charged with the murder of Joseph Minnifield, 58 that occurred on Sept. 20 at the 1500 block of Hayden Street.
During the Selma Police Department (SPD) investigation, detectives learned that Muldrow was Minnifield’s girlfriend. Interim Selma Police Chief Robert W. Green also said the victim was shot over losing Butler’s dog.
Armstrong set a preliminary hearing date for Muldrow and Butler on Oct. 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the Dallas County Courthouse.
