A Wilcox County resident was found guilty of murder Wednesday by a Wilcox County Jury.

According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, Sylvester Elliot, 26, is being charged for allegedly shooting and killing Clifford Bonner on Sept. 3, 2017.

The Wilcox County Jury deliberated for two hours and came away with a guilty verdict on Elliot. Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway ordered a Pre-sentence Investigation and report.

Jackson said Elliot will be sentenced in a few months and could be sentenced to life imprisonment.

“This was a cold-blooded murder, this gunslinger needs to spend the rest of his life in prison,” Jackson said.
