The winning continues for Morgan Academy golfer Jones Free.

The junior won the Bud Burns Dixie Juniors Golf Tournament last weekend at the Selma Country Club.

Free shot 4-under-par-67 the first day and 2-under-par-69 on day two to win the tournament by six strokes.

The other individual tournaments Free won this year are Selma Country Club (SCC) champion, 70th Press Thornton Future Masters Golf Tournament and 91st annual Selma Country Club Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament.

In team events this summer, Free led the Senators to a AISA golf title, helped Team Alabama win a fourth straight Southern Junior Cup Championship and part of a first-place team at the Safe Harbor tournament.

“I feel great about winning, I’ve been playing well all summer, it’s the best summer I’ve played golf,” Free said.  “When I used to play bad, it was because of my putting. I’ve worked on my putting. I’m also hitting the ball longer.’

Free will play college golf at the University of Alabama in two years.
