October is when the festivities begin for the Selma-Dallas County Boy Scouts as they prepare for the Third Annual Shrimp and Sausage Boil.

Coming off the success of the last two years, the scouts are hoping to increase their goal and beat it with a goal of $10,000.

Boy Scouts District Commissioner Bob Myers hopes that the good turnout will continue this year.

This a great cause to get behind.

Myers said the scouts put the money raised from the event to good use by creating scholarships for underfunded campers so they can be sure to experience all of the fun the scouts have to offer.

This is an excellent program that is local and is training young people to be involved with something and to have something to be passionate about.

Also, who doesn’t love a good food festival?

Sponsorship also is always appreciated. There are many ways to help support this event that allows all scouts to participate in the program.

Sponsorship for the Boy Scouts 3rd Annual Shrimp and Sausage Boil, set for Oct. 12 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Play Selma, are available for $300. The price includes four tickets, 12 drink passes and the sponsor’s name on T-shirts and the event banner.

Single tickets are available for $30 and couple tickets for $50.
