Moore feels that even one accident is one too many due to both Valley Grande Elementary and William R Martin Middle being so class.

“That’s why this project is so important to me,” said Moore. “Because of those schools.”

According to Moore, the project is being completed by the Alabama Department of Transportation.

After meeting with the commission ALDOT was able to find funds in order to complete the project.

“ALDOT is like the county in that way,” said Moore. “They can move extra money from one project to another to get other projects done.”

Moore attributed the discovery of Available funds to ALDOT engineer Steve Carven and expressed his thanks to ALDOT for their handling of the project.

“You know they didn’t have to do that but they did,” said Moore. “We have a great relationship with ALDOT. We [The Dallas County Commission} meet with them a few times per year and they’re always very receptive to our needs.”

According to Moore, the project is estimated to be completed with the next 2-3 weeks.
