The Selma Redevelopment Authority (SRA) and the City of Selma have announced a partnership with DesignAlabama, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing locations through the collaboration of the arts of design.

SRA Chairman Juanda Maxwell announced that as the first step in this collaboration, The SRA and Design Alabama will host a “Community Come and Go” event at the Carneal ArtsRevive Building, 3 Church St, at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22.

DesignAlabama’s team of architects, designers and city planners will be asking the citizens of Selma to help them understand the assets of the community and the things that make Selma a special place.

After hearing ideas, DesignAlabama will incorporate community input into their ideas and recommendations as they seek out those things that can build prosperity and the highest quality of life in Selma.

Maxwell encouraged the entire community to come and be a part of the forum.

“Come be part of the process and contribute to making Selma the best it can be,” she said.

Maxwell then thanked SRA Board Members Billy Young, Marth Lockett, Johnny Moss, III, Harold Speir, Clint Wilkinson and Johnny Moss, Jr. for making the collaboration possible.
