Selma resident indicted on five charges

A Selma resident was indicted Monday by a Dallas County Grand Jury on five charges.

David L. Lewis, 29, was indicted for murder, discharging a gun into an occupied building, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief and unlawful breaking and entering into a motor vehicle.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Lewis’ bond was set at $5 million. He is currently in the Dallas County Jail.

The Selma Police Department’s report shows the arrest stems from the Jan. 8 murder of Allah Bishop at the 400 block of Martin Luther King Street at the 307 Apartment of GWC homes. Lewis (AKA Joe Dinero) was officially charged on Jan. 14. He had a bond hearing a few days after the arrest.
