Branden’s Hair Studio officially opened its doors Saturday.

School supplies and haircuts were given free to the kids throughout the afternoon for the grand opening. Store owner Branden Parnell led a ribbon cutting ceremony later in the morning to make it official.

“It feels good to open and give back to the community,” Parnell said. “The haircuts and school supplies will go a long way helping the kids get the school year off to a good start. It feels good to help the less fortunate.”

Selma City Councilwoman Angela Benjamin participated in the ribbon cutting and showed her support for Parnell. Benjamin called it a great day for Selma.

Bridget Powell, Parnell’s mother, prayed for the city to support him.
