Catherine Smith Calhoun-Ellis, 87, native of Selma, passed away July 25, 2019 in Hope Hull. Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2019, 1 p.m. at Tabernacle of Praise with Pastor Willie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Ridge Baptist Church with Ashley’s J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home. She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Smith Sr.; mother, Ellen Irby Smith; brother, Napoleon Smith; son, William Smith Sr.; daughter, Brenda Calhoun; husband, Arthur Ellis. She is survived by four sons, Joe Calhoun Jr., Sylvester Smith Sr., Chapman Smith Sr. and Willie Smith Sr.; three daughters, Carolyn Bates, Linda Pettway, Jonita Calhoun; brother, Chatman Smith; sister, Mary Dell Smith.
