Wannabe Rescued’s Annual Yard Sale once again brought out droves of people looking for bargains and also supporting the organization’s mission to save homeless animals.

According to Wannabe Rescued Volunteer Debbie Clark, waves of people arrived at Westwood Baptist Church, where the yard sale took place, as early as 6 a.m., an hour before it was supposed to begin.

“The parking lot has been absolutely full,” said Lorraine Alexander, another of the organization’s volunteers. “There was a river of people coming in to look everything over.”

Wannabe Rescued’s volunteers said a lot of merchandise was sold on Saturday.

The group received tons of donated items to sell, curating a collection of items to suit anyone’s interest, including furniture, electronics, toys and apparel.

With the money collected from the yard sale, Wannabe Rescued will have more funds to fulfill day-to-day tasks like boarding homeless animals at the vet’s office and purchase food and medicine for dogs and puppies.
