Photos for Selma 200: Bicentennial Gallery tells stories of Selma made possible by a collaboration between Selma residents and Blue Magnolia Films.
The mini-documentary includes photos that are put up around the city including areas in downtown that tell unique stories about the city.
By using a QR code, audiences can learn about the photographs they are observing.
Afriye We-kandodis said this is an awesome way to bring the community together.
The pictures will be unveiled today. Selma200 is the first project that Blue Magnolia Films has taken part in outside of Mississippi, where the production company is based.
According to Phillips, Blue Magnolia Films has told hundreds of stories within Mississippi using the same format as Selma200.
Telling these stories of Selma is so important.
We live in such a history rich area and there are many stories that need to be told.
No matter the medium, we are happy that these stories are being preserved and presented to generations for years to come.
The public screening also will be today from 5-7 p.m. at 3 Church St. at ArtsRevive.
