Kittens need good homes

According to Purrrfect Pals Volunteer Jacque Johnson, Kitten season has hit the Selma – Dallas County area quite hard and, as a result, the Selma Animal Hospital has many young cats and kittens available for adoption.

“This is a great time of year to add a cat or kitten to your family,” said Johnson. “Our small group of dedicated foster homes are full due to a very prolific kitten season. Not only will you be saving the life of the pet you adopt, but you’ll make room for another kitten or cat to be rescued and fostered.”

Theresa Hall and Glenda Nichols, also volunteers at Purrrfect Pals, expressed their passion of caring for felines and the importance of finding them homes.

“I have a heart for animals, especially cats,” said Nichols. “It just makes me feel good to provide an animal with a home.”

“It means a lot to me to be able to provide a home for those animals,” said Hall. “Bringing the cats and kittens into my home, I get the best of both worlds. I get to watch them grow and I get to help them learn that humans can be trusted and that they can be loved.”

According to Johnson, the Selma Animal Shelter has great specials on adoptions for cats right now.

The adoption fee for an adult cat is $25, one kitten is $40 and two kittens are $50.
“That’s way better than  free since they have been vet checked, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped.”
