This Saturday’s 75th Anniversary of D-Day Baseball Tournament combines one of America’s shining moments with one of America’s favorite past times.
Many teams form plces such as Centreville, Tuscaloosa and Leeds are set to take the field to remember the sacrifices numerous Allied Troops made on D-Day but to also bring the communities closer together.
“It’s great for the community and for the players, parents, coaches and fans,” said Jerome Hand, Head Coach for Post 20’s team. “Most of those love baseball and love America and we have a chance to put the two together. It is a win-win situation. And, it’s some really competitive and entertaining baseball.”
We encourage everyone to attend this event that goes on from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Bloch Park in Selma.
Being part of the community is important in times when that is what we need more than ever.
