Selma High offensive tackle Jeremiah Wright is quickly climbing the college football recruiting ladder.
Wright has four scholarship offers from two SEC schools: Auburn and Tennessee. South Alabama, Troy and Tulane are his other FBS offers.
“I feel good about going through the recruiting process,” Wright said. “The schools are coming to recruit me. I’m trying to be patient and stay humble.”
At 6-foot-5 and weighing 325 pounds, Wright has the size and skill to play either guard or tackle position in college.
Wright will spend the summer showing off his skills. He’s heading to camps at Southern Miss and Troy this week. Next month, Wright plans to attend camps at Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Georgia.
Wright said the recruiting process hasn’t changed him.
“I feel like a normal person,” Wright said. “I won’t get a big head because there’s always someone better than you ready to take it away.”
Wright is in good shape academically. Wright finished his junior year with a 3.4 Grade Point Average. Wright took the ACT in the spring and hasn’t received his score.
The early NCAA football signing period will be held Dec. 19-21. The regular football signing day is Feb. 5, 2020.
