The Selma Dallas County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting and reception to celebrate Selma’s newest, and maybe youngest, entrepreneur.
Kira Fails, “SheEO” of Luxurious Lengths, gathered with a large group of supporters at The Gathering Place to formally kick off her new business venture.
Fails describes Luxurious Lengths as an affordable hair extensions store that offers quality products.
Fails, who just turned 18, discovered a passion for making hair extensions a couple of years ago.
“I went to school and everyone was like, ‘Who did your hair? It’s so pretty.’ and I was like, ‘I did, it’s a wig.’”
Fails has always had an entrepreneurial spirit.
“I’ve always dreamed of owning my own business,” she said.
Fails dreams became a reality after winning third place in the MJ 93-90 Shark Tank Competition.
The $3,000 cash prize she received allowed her to put her business plan into action.
Fails has high expectations for her business as well, for someone so young, she has a lot of confidence in her vision.
“I have really good expectations,” she said. “I think we’re going to do really well.”
Fails, who soon graduates from Selma High School, plans to continue her education and further her entrepreneurial experience at Alabama A&M University where she plans to study business and marketing.
“I hope to become more successful and grow and let my business be known all over the United States,” said Fails.
