Chamber hosts 22nd annual golf tournament

The 22nd annual Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament once again took place at Valley Grande Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon.
This year, 21 teams took to the green to enjoy a beautiful spring day and support the Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s a beautiful day, it’s great to be out of the office,” said Selma City School Board President Johnny Moss, a participant in this year’s tournament.
Chamber Executive Director Sheryl Smedley said that this year’s tournament turned out great. Everyone involved had a great time and enjoyed the weather.
“We’re excited that all our spots filled up this year,” said Smedley.
Smedley also thanked the sponsors who made this year’s tournament possible.
“The sponsors show support to the chamber and the community as well,” said Smedley.
This year’s sponsors for the tournament included Bush Hog, Carter Drug Co., SounthernLINC Wireless, Store Room Fasteners and Big River Carwash.
The money collected from the golf tournament is used to help the chamber complete projects that help service the community.
Pinebelt Wireless won first place in the first flight, Pepsi #2 won first place in the second flight and Store Room Fasteners won first place in the third flight.
Second place winners were Ronnie Andrews for flight one, Johnny Moss for flight two and Vaughan Regional Medical Center won second place for flight three.
The third place winners were Pepsi #1 in flight one Carter Drug Co. in flight two and Bush Hog in flight three.
