DCBOE names new CSFO

The Dallas County Board of Education (DCBOE) chose a new Chief School Financial Officer (CSFO) at Thursday night’s board meeting.

Shelia McCary and Sandra Purdie were interviewed by the board before Thursday’s meeting officially began.

After an executive session was held at the end of the meeting, Purdie was chosen as the new CSFO for Dallas County Schools.

Purdie is a product of the Dallas County School System, a graduate of Keith High School. She is Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) certified, possessing both professional and payroll personnel certificates.

Purdie has worked in finance her entire career and served as Bookkeeper for Dallas County Schools for the last six years.

During the interview, Purdie promised, that if given the opportunity, she would excel as the new CSFO.

“I will give it my all and do the best that I can as I work with the superintendent and the school board,” she said.

Purdie will take over as CSFO on July 1. Until then, she will train under the current CSFO Becky Turner, and learn the inner workings of her new position.
