A Perry County native was sentenced Monday to nine life sentences to run concurrent on sexual offense charges.
Tony Carver Simmons, who has a Bibb County address, was sentenced to nine life sentences on charges of one count of rape, four counts of first-degree sodomy and four counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway sentenced Simmons in the Bibb County Courtroom.
According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, Simmons sexually abused his family members from ages 14 to 18 years old. Simmons would sexually abuse them, said he loved them, but if they told anyone, he would kill them.
“I am glad this sexual predator is going to spend the rest of his life in prison,” Jackson said. “He has destroyed these kids’ childhood. There is no excuse for his criminal behavior.”
