A bond hearing was held Thursday for two suspects involved in a heroin operation at the Dallas County Courthouse.
The Selma Police Department arrested both Timothy Brown, 34 and Inez Woods, 36, Tuesday at a house on Utah Street. The Selma PD Fugitive Apprehension and Special Tactics (FAST) team found them inside the home along with an elderly female, two children and an infant.
Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong set Brown’s bond at $250,000 and Woods’ bond at $150,000.
Woods was charged with distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, endangerment of a child by chemical substance and second-degree possession of marijuana.

Collier said Tuesday that the discovery of the heroin operation is “disturbing.”
“In Alabama, heroin has plagued the northern part of the state, particularly in Jefferson County and counties north of I-20. Fortunately, until today (Tuesday), the Selma community has been spared the scourge of heroin that has destroyed so many lives in Alabama and the United States. The discovery of heroin appears to be the first heroin arrest in Selma in over a decade.”
The preliminary hearing date for Brown and Woods is April 9 at 1:30 p.m.
