Morgan Academy rolling through Gulf Shores Baseball Tournament

Top-ranked Morgan Academy is off to a great start at the Gulf Shores Baseball Tournament.
Dione Allen and Andrew Thomas combined for a no-hitter as the Senators beat Hennessey 22-2 in game one on Monday. Thomas struck out five to get the victory. Jeremy Lee homered, Matthew Davis had a team-high three hits. Gunnar Henderson, Joseph Estes, Brayton Brown, David DuCote and Lee all had two hits and an RBI.
The Senators (15-0) beat Choctawhatchee 12-2 on Monday as Jeremy Lee had two hits and four RBI. Gunnar Henderson and Xavier Green also had RBI. Brayton Brown struck out four to get the win.
The Senators beat Goodpasture Christian 12-2 as Matthew Davis tossed a one-hitter. Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Brayton Brown and Milam Turner each had two hits for the Senators.
Morgan Academy defeated Manila High (Arkansas) 15-0 on Wednesday as Jeremy Lee earned the victory. Lee also had three hits and homered. Xavier Green homered.
Morgan Academy coach Stephen Clements said the Senators, ranked No. 1 in the AISA Baseball poll, are playing well.
“We are really seeing the ball well and our approaches at the plate have been very good this week,” Clements said. “The pitching staff has also done a great job attacking the zone and battling on the mound.”:
In other games involving Dallas County schools:
Stanhope Elmore 16, Selma High 4: Nick Nettles struck out eight in the loss for the Saints. Earnest England led Selma with two hits.
Dallas County sweeps Autaugaville: The Hornets prevailed 16-1 and 15-0 in run-ruled, shortened games, improving to 5-4.
Southside swept: The Panthers (5-4) lost two Area 5, Class 3A games 21-5 and 19-3 to Prattville Christian.
