Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) placed a sign on the corner of Broad Street and Water Avenue stating that the Edmund Pettus Bridge will be closed from March 13-15.

According to a press release for ALDOT, maintenance on the bridge will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning and will continue until Friday afternoon until approximately 4:30 p.m.

Driver’s should use the Selma Bypass (Alabama Highway 41) while the bridge is under maintenance and use extreme caution while traveling through work zones.

Message boards and detour signs will be placed up to help the public.
