Tucker joins list of big names visiting Selma

Organizers for the annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee, which got underway Thursday afternoon, announced that comedian Chris Tucker will be joining the slate of public figures and politicians scheduled to touch down in Selma over the weekend.
Tucker will be at the Freedom Flame Awards, which takes place Saturday night at the Carl Morgan Convention Center, alongside baseball legend Hank Aaron, Essence Editor-in-Chief Emerita Susan Taylor and more.
Tucker, who was born in Atlanta, started his career on Def Comedy Jam in the early 1990s and rose to greater fame after starring in “Friday” alongside rapper Ice Cube.
Since then, Tucker has starred in more than a dozen movies and has appeared in a number of music videos and television shows.
