Infielders David Ducote, Gunnar Henderson and catcher Brayton Brown all signed with Auburn University. Ducote transferred from St. Andrew Episcopal School in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

All had productive junior seasons last year. Henderson, the state’s top-ranked prep baseball player by Perfect Game, hit .483 with three doubles, two triples and two homers. Ducote hit .358 with four homers and 24 RBI. Brown hit .422 with five home runs and 37 RBI.

A fourth Division I prospect on the squad is Jeremy Lee, who played at Meadowview Christian School (MCS) last season. He went 8-1, struck out 95 batters, hit .638 with eight homers.

Alabama and Auburn are both interested in Lee, the Selma Times-Journal’s football player of the year at Morgan Academy, to play baseball. Lee’s excited to play baseball and has high expectations.

“I don’t see how we don’t win a state baseball championship,” Lee said.

Clement said he’s looking forward to coaching the Senators.

Meadowview Christian School won the ACCA state championship last year and are now back in AISA.

Other top returning players in Dallas County include Selma High third baseman Amarian Molette, MCS pitcher Garrett Brech and Dallas County catcher Demarckus Smiley
