Selma High, Ellwood Christian Academy in position to win area titles

Joseph Mahone scored 24 points and Justin Bradford had 20 as Ellwood Christian Academy (ECA) beat Billingsley 77-37 on Thursday night.
In the girls game, ECA prevailed 49-33 as Dameria Pratt had 37 points and Patricia Peoples blocked 17 shots.
ECA hosts Robert E. Lee at Wallace Community College-Selma on Saturday around 4 p.m.
Selma 68, Wetumpka 56: Johnny Smith scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Saints improved to 3-1 in Area 5, Class 6A. Selma and Stanhope-Elmore are tied for first place in the area.
Selma coach Ronald Lane said that a coin flip may determine the top seed and who hosts the area tournament and the receive first-round bye.
MJ Harris scored 14 points and Javonte Stubbs added 10 points in his first start of the year.
Francis Marion wins two: The Rams beat Maplesville 57- 49 as JeKavien Mayhand scored 19 points, followed by JaCorrian Sanders with 17 points and Stefan Essex added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Rams beat Isabella 83 – 47 as Mayhand scored 13 points, followed by Tyrese Tabb’s 12 points and 10 rebounds and Jaquan Brooks had 10.
