Suspect charged with capital murder

A suspect was arrested Thursday for capital murder in a two-year-old case.
Courtney Williams was arrested on the Grand Jury Capias Warrant in connection with the murder of Jamarius Deonta Fails on Oct. 16, 2017, according to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson.
Williams, 30, was charged with capital murder on Thursday, with no bond and placed in the Dallas County Jail. A Dallas County Grand Jury indicted Williams last month.
The Selma Police Department’s (SPD) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) found Fails incapacitated in the backseat of a crashed vehicle bleeding from the head and chest area near the intersection of J.L. Chestnut Jr. Boulevard and Jackson Street around 3 a.m. on Oct. 16. Fails’ funeral was held on Oct. 21, 2017 at New Shady Grove the Word Ministry.
