Margaret Henderson (Peggy) Christian died Wednesday after a brief illness.  She was born in Bessemer on December 27, 1949 to Dr. and Mrs. Paul Alexander Henderson.  She was a graduate of Bessemer High School and the University of Alabama. While at Alabama, she met the love of her life, her husband John Edward (TJ) Christian and they were married almost 50 years. She is also survived by her sister, Paula (Carl) Stringfellow and her adoring children Meg (Rob) Meadows, John Christian, Catie (Jon) Childers and Amy (Brock) Mathews. She is also survived by very special grandchildren-Timothy John (TJ), Dempsey, Tayler, Grace, Gale, William, Layne and Emma. Additionally, she is survived by her nephew Don Wynot and family and niece Paula Gale Hancock and family.  She had many students who had become very special to her and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with visitation 12:30-1:45 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be sent to Selma Dallas County Public Library Children’s Department and ArtsRevive.
